Opera Libretti
As a passionate opera-goer and linguist I am keen to expand my specialist fields to include the translation of opera libretti and giving little known scores a chance to shine again by setting an original English libretto to them.
Current projects include an updated English version of Rossini's masterpiece Il Viaggio a Reims set in an airport's executive lounge in 2004 and the short cantata Gli Amori di Teolinda by Meyerbeer, for Soprano, Clarinet and Orchestra, reworked to tell the Snow White story. | Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus
It's a great priviledge and pleasure to be a member of this huge choir, a major presence in Sheffield for over 75 years.
We always welcome new members, particularly male voices. Whether you want to come along and try us out or find out when our next concert is, visit our website: www.sheffieldphil.org Become a Friend! Visit this page to see how you can become part of the Sheffield Phil, even if you don't sing. |
Barnsley Lamproom Theatre
This wonderful community theatre stages everything from one man shows to full scale pantomimes, from Agatha Christie to modern Irish drama as well as showcasing local singing and dancing talent. These skulls (and lots of bones) were made for A Skull in Connemara, the second play in Martin McDonagh's darkly funny trilogy.
